Share of women on faculty increases

NEWS| The University is claiming success in its ongoing effort to get more women on the faculty, according to Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity Pat Jones. Women make up about 43 percent of the incoming faculty class but still represent only 24.3 percent of overall faculty.

SPORTS| In its last competition before this month’s NCAA Championships, Stanford women’s tennis didn’t capture any individual titles in singles or doubles action at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships in Ojai, Calif. However, the Cardinal did manage to accumulate more individual wins than any other Pac-10 school this past weekend.

Lacrosse team lets Terriers rip out win

SPORTS| The regular season came to a less-than-stellar close for the Stanford women’s lacrosse team this past weekend. After traveling to the East Coast for a non-conference match against No. 20 Boston University, the Cardinal came up short against the Terriers’ second-half scoring streak, losing 12-9. The trip left Stanford with a 6-8 final season record.
