Approximately 300 people attended the celebration Saturday evening at the Lake Lagunita barbeque pit. People gathered to throw puffed rice and popcorn into the fire. The event featured live Bhangra performances and Punjabi folk songs by San Francisco local musical artist “Jagga.” The Lohri celebration marks fertility for the newly wed and newborn babies, and is extremely important in Northern Indian culture.
