College Fashion Tips You Don’t Want To Ignore

March 7, 2010, 7:19 a.m.

While struggling to keep up with the latest fashion trends and still be on your budget, you might be ignoring some of the most basic, yet important fashion tips a girl should always hold on to. Due to the constant rush you are on to get form one class to another, to the library, cafeteria, complete a project and study for a mid-term all in the same day, it is understandable that you might skip the regular hair styling process one or two days a week. But attending a course while wearing clothes that do not match or without passing a comb through your hairs – these are a few of the mistakes that cannot be easily pardoned and which should never repeat themselves. So below you will find a series of useful advice we recommend you hold on tight to.

Stop Wearing Clothes That Simply Do Not Match

Don’t be tempted to believe everything you see on TV when it comes to college life. You won’t see a lot of girls with magazine hairdos and perfect makeup. In fact, you’ll have a hard time finding students wearing clothes that actually match. With so little time on your hand and few hours of sleep every night, there is no wonder you wake up 10 minutes before a class only to grab the nearest short and pair of jeans and be on your way. Most likely, you will notice all the girls around you are wearing clothes that are simply comfortable – forget about the stylish, fashion-like trends. These only come at sight when there’s a hot party in a fancy location.

But do try to match colors from time to time and not look like homeless. Wash your clothes and don’t go to class wearing stained shirts or pants. Get rid of your ripped clothes or try to do something creative with them, add some decorative elements and give them a nicer, more normal look. Your budget might not allow you to buy very expensive clothes, but try to avoid the wear and tear types of clothes that are simply too baggy to wear anymore. Do your laundry as often as you can or ask for help when you feel overwhelmed.

Hair And Makeup Anyone?

If you think brushing your hair in the morning is a common sense thing to do, if you’re a college student with a hectic schedule, you might want to rethink your theory. Waking up late every morning and barely having time to get to class before your professors walk in is a race you probably too lose morning after morning. Try to wake up at least 5 or 10 minutes earlier – no one says you should curl or straighten your hair each morning, but at least combing it and making a decent pony tail should help you achieve a pleasant look. As for the makeup part of your college morning routine, mascara and lip gloss are the essential things you’ll need to change that “I’ve just gotten up from bed 5 minutes ago” look.
