In preparation for finals week, sophomore Will Stoeckle and senior Sven Hinrichsen drove up to Alpine Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe for Red Bull Schlittentag (German for “sledding day”). A total of 17 teams from various Northern California colleges entered the competition. The Stanford team, dressed in board shorts and speedos despite sub-zero temperatures, finished in 26 seconds. It wasn’t quite enough to eclipse the ultimate winner, Chico State.

“I had an awesome time at the event,” Hinrichsen said. “Red Bull made a customized slope for this event which included 3 rollers and a jump. It was definitely the best Saturday I’ve spent before finals.”

“After all the rain last week it was nice to finally break out the board shorts and get in a base tan in time for spring,” Stoeckle said.
