This report covers a selection of incidents from Sept. 30 to Oct. 7 as recorded in the Stanford Department of Public Safety bulletin.
A series of car burglaries, drug citations and bike thefts in Rains and on the Row occurred during this period.
Thursday, Sept. 30
Between 5:00 p.m. and 9:45 a.m., the victim’s U-locked bike was stolen from bike racks near Donner. He later reported finding his bike in the bushes.
In an incident that occurred between Sept. 8 and Sept. 9, unknown suspects stole the victim’s laptop and accessories while she was in the process of moving from her residence in the Oak Creek apartments.
On Sept. 30, the victim reported that unknown suspects used the reporting party’s social security number for medical services.
Friday, Oct. 1
Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 30, the victim’s cable-locked bike was stolen in front of Lagunita Court.
On Sept. 30 between 11:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., unknown suspects rummaged through the victim’s parked vehicle at 624 Mayfield Ave., stealing various items from the glove box and trunk.
Student Services received a report from a victim who believes his ex-girlfriend’s ex-husband may be stalking him.
Victim reported being defrauded out of $3,895 in a check overpayment and wire transfer scheme.
At 10:25 a.m., officers towed a vehicle from 655 Escondido Rd. for having excessive tickets. The vehicle has been booted since Aug. 25.
At 12:30 p.m., a gas turbine at the cogeneration plant at 288 Campus Dr. lost power and caused a breaker to open, making a loud “boom” noise and producing a smell of natural gas. No injuries or damages were reported.
Sunday, Oct. 3
Between 10:00 p.m. the previous day and 8:00 a.m. Oct. 2, unknown suspects wrote graffiti on reporting party’s apartment door in Munger Building 2.
Saturday, Oct. 2
Between 1:00 p.m. the previous day and 9:30 a.m. Oct 3, the victim’s U-locked bike was stolen from near the Rains apartment complex.
Between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., the victim’s U-locked bike was stolen from Alondra in Florence Moore Hall.
Monday, Oct. 4
Between 6:00 p.m. the previous day and 8:00 a.m. Oct. 4, two U-locked bikes were stolen from the bike rack in front of Durand and another from the racks outside of French House.
At 12:15 p.m. an unlicensed driver was cited and released at the intersection of Campus Drive and Arguello Road.
Between midnight and 10:00 a.m., unknown suspects used a dry erasable marker to write Cal slogans on a bench in front of the post office in White Plaza. There were no permanent damages to any structure, but plenty done to the reputation of Cal students worldwide for not using something more permanent.
Tuesday, Oct. 5
At 3:10 p.m., an arrestee was cited and released at parking lot three on Quarry Road for knowingly and fraudulently using a California handicapped parking placard not issued to him.
Wednesday, Oct. 6
Between 5:00 p.m. Oct. 4 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 5, the victim’s cable-locked bike was stolen from in front of Terra.
