Men’s golf came close but failed to advance to the NCAA Championships after the Central Regional Saturday.

The Cardinal dropped one place, starting the day in fifth place but finishing in sixth. Tennessee shot past Stanford in the final round, moving from seventh to tie Iowa in fourth.

Junior David Chung was Stanford’s highest finisher, placing 11th at 213 (E). Chung knocked in an eagle on the ninth hole but bogeyed three holes on the back nine.
