U.S. Open | David Chung ’12 is one of several college students who were selected to play at the U.S. Open. Chung, who placed second at last summer’s U.S. Amateur Championships, struggled yesterday, hitting only four out of 18 greens within regulation.

Health | Gastric bypass surgery, long reserved for the “morbidly obese,” might be more effective on less obese patients, according to a study by Stanford Hospital & Clinics bariatric surgery director John Morton at the the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery meeting. In light of this finding, several doctors are calling for a reevaluation of criteria for evaluating whether a patient qualifies for the procedure.
