Practical law | Stanford Law School is considering making a rigorous course that includes 40-plus hours a week of case work a graduation requirement, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal. The requirement is in response to law firms’ feedback that current law graduates aren’t able to work easily with clients right after graduation.

Web privacy | At least eight Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) don’t remove tracking cookies after users turn on the “Do Not Track” setting in the Web browsers, according to research at the Stanford Security Lab, a practice that violates the self-regulating body’s policy. The results came from “a platform for measuring dynamic Web content” the Security Lab has been developing, according to a post on the Center for Internet and Society website.

Gas line test | PG&E begins pressure testing its gas transmission line that runs through Stanford property within “a week or two,” officials told Palo Alto Online. The gas line enters the city from the north along Junipero Serra Boulevard, where it continues down Page Mill Road and eventually reaches Mountain View. The tests will involve hydrostatic testing, which is pushing water through the pipes at much higher pressure than natural gas is supposed to reach.
