This report covers a selection of incidents from Dec. 12, 2011, through Jan. 10, 2012, as recorded in the Stanford Department of Public Safety bulletin.

 

Monday, Dec. 12

 

Someone stole supplies and equipment from two storage containers near the intersection of Museum Way and Lasuen Street after cutting locks into a construction site and the storage container locks between 3 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.

 

A chain-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of Munger Building 2 between 8 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.

 

A rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked outside of Theta Delta Chi at 1:30 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 13

 

A hit-and-run collision involving two vehicles occurred at 6:08 p.m. on Palm Drive. No injuries were reported.

 

At 9 a.m. somebody stole and used a credit card that the victim had accidentally left in a returned rental vehicle.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 14

 

A woman was cited and released at Stern Hall for being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and for resisting and obstructing a peace officer at 2:57 a.m.

 

An unknown suspect broke the entry gate’s hinges at the Stock Farm Greenhouse site between noon on Dec. 6 and 11:55 a.m. on Dec. 14. Nothing was stolen and no buildings were entered.

 

A cable-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of the Lokey Chemical Biology building between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, Dec. 15

 

Someone was booked at the San Jose Main Jail for driving under the influence near the intersection of Bowdoin Street and Stanford Avenue at 4:30 a.m.

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of the School of Education between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

 

Somebody stole a statue from the front of the driveway at 511 Gerond Road between 9 p.m. the previous night and 5:30 p.m.

 

A male was booked at the San Jose Main Jail for being publicly intoxicated and for trespassing at the Clubhouse between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

 

Friday, Dec. 16

 

Four people were cited and released for trespassing at 12:15 a.m. near 466 Lomita Mall.

 

Somebody damaged a door lock and a fire-alarm box in the Old Chemistry building while trespassing between 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 15 and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 16.

 

A cable-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of the Gates Computer Science building between noon and 1:20 p.m.

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of Green Library between 4 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 16.

 

Saturday, Dec. 17

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 17.

 

Sunday, Dec. 18

 

A male was transported to the San Jose Main Jail and booked for being publicly intoxicated near the intersection of Olmstead Road and Hulme Court at 2 a.m.

 

Somebody stole an unattended iPhone from a table at the Med Café at the Li Ka Shing Center between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

 

Someone was cited and released for driving on a suspended license in the 600 block of Junipero Serra Road at 11:40 p.m.

 

Monday, Dec. 19

 

A male was cited and released for driving on a suspended license at 6 a.m. in the 600 block of Junipero Serra Road.

 

A cable-locked bike was stolen from the bike rack outside of the Sherman Fairchild Science Building between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of the Beckman Center for Molecular and Genetic Medicine between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 20

 

An unknown suspect pried open the side door of a residence at 834 Cedro Way and ransacked the house, stealing a car and electronics, between 5:30 p.m. the previous night and 1:30 p.m.

 

Somebody was transported to the San Jose Main Jail and booked for being publicly intoxicated near the intersection of Campus Drive and Bowdoin at 2:25 p.m.

 

An unknown suspect stole a cell phone and cash from an unlocked lab locker in the Sherman Fairchild Science Building between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 21

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 21.

 

Thursday, Dec. 22

 

Somebody smashed the window of a passenger side door and stole equipment, tools and a set of hospital keys from a vehicle at 169 Searsville Road between 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 and 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 22.

 

The victim wired money to a caller who claimed to be the victim’s grandson between noon and 2 p.m. The caller was not the victim’s grandson.

 

Friday, Dec. 23

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack on the corner of Stanford Avenue and Junipero Serra Road between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, Dec. 24

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 24.

 

Sunday, Dec. 25

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 25.

 

Monday, Dec. 26

 

A male was cited and released for being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and for vandalism near the credit union at 4:20 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 27

 

A male was cited and released on a warrant out of Santa Barbara at 4:10 p.m. near the intersection of Serra Street and Campus Drive East.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 28

 

Somebody stole an unattended wallet from an open storage cubby in the Arrillaga Center for Sports & Recreation between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, Dec. 29

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 29.

 

Friday, Dec. 30

 

No incidents were reported for Dec. 30.

 

Saturday, Dec. 31

 

Somebody stole a bike seat from a bike parked outside of the Center for Clinical Sciences Research between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

 

An unknown suspect used spray paint and black marker to vandalize eight walls of Parking Structure 2 at 11:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 3

 

A male was cited and released for driving unlicensed at 9:45 a.m. near the intersection of Alvarado Row and Mayfield Avenue.

 

Wednesday, Jan 4

 

A suspect driving a silver Jeep Wrangler sped through stop signs and evaded deputies attempting to initiate a traffic stop between 12:45 a.m. and 12:55 a.m. near the intersection of Galvez Street and Campus Drive East.

 

Thursday, Jan. 5

 

Somebody stole a front tire from a bike that was locked at the intersection of Bowdoin Lane and Wilbur Way between 5:30 p.m. the previous evening and 10 a.m.

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of the Rains Complex between 9 p.m. on Dec. 23 and 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 5.

 

An unlocked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside of the Knight Management Center between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

 

Between March 1 and Jan. 5, an unknown suspect stole approximately 300 books from the victim’s residence in the Pearce Mitchell complex.

 

A suspect fled the scene at the Lake Lagunita fire pit, abandoning liquor bottles and two stereo speakers, at 11:45 p.m.

 

Friday, Jan. 6

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of Lantana between 9 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 6.

 

An unknown suspect stole an unattended wallet from a cubby in the workout room of the Arrillaga Center for Sports & Recreation between 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

 

Saturday, Jan. 7

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of Castaño between 4 p.m. on June 15 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 7.

 

An unlocked bike was stolen from 363 Olmstead Road between 2:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

 

Sunday, Jan. 8

 

A male was cited and released on a warrant out of Palo Alto at 9:30 a.m.

 

An unknown suspect stole an unattended wallet from a cubby in the Arrillaga Center for Sports & Recreation between 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

 

Monday, Jan. 9

 

Someone was cited and released for petty theft at the Stanford Bookstore between 1:40 p.m. and 1:55 p.m.

 

A cable-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside Tresidder Memorial Union between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 10

 

A U-locked bike was stolen from a rack outside of Wilbur Hall between 9 a.m. on Jan. 9 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 10.
