Stuck in social limbo, grad students turn to the BBQ

Oct. 1, 2014, 12:00 p.m.

Frequent treks from East Campus to West have me passing by Munger pretty often, and while the walk at night is not always a welcome one, I can feel assured by one constant: a group of graduate students BBQing.

What’s this all about, grad students?

I get a sense that grad students are in a sort of social limbo — too young to be comfortable with a quiet night in, but just too old to be getting low at SAE (is that what the kids do these days?). So they have found a happy medium, I suppose, in the sizzle of their dorm BBQ. If all else fails over at the GSB, at least they’ll know how to smoke some sick meat.

In any case, I am looking forward to seeing you this weekend, grad students! If you see me, please toss me a burger — it’ll save me a late night trip to Axe and Palm.
