The Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity will lose its housing for the next two years due to sexual harassment concerns, the University said in a statement on Friday. A University investigation found that a fraternity event in May created a hostile environment for female students, citing the school’s Title IX responsibilities as well as previous concerns dating back to 2009. SAE will be able to appeal the decision to the Vice Provost of Student Affairs. On Friday, Stanford also announced that it had admitted 743 early applicants to the Class of 2019, representing an acceptance rate of 10.2 percent for a University record restrictive early action pool of 7,297 students.
