Bridge protest, Meyer demolition, Daily applications

Stanford students shut down the San Mateo-Hayward bridge as part of nationwide protests on MLK Day, and 11 of the protesters were jailed. The demolition of Meyer Library will begin on Feb. 4. The Daily is accepting applications for the rest of the school year from now until Saturday. Our Super Tuesday columnists debate the Keystone XL pipeline. Three Stanford women’s soccer players (Chioma Ubogagu, Lo’eau LaBonta and Kendall Romine) were taken in the NWSL draft on Friday. Cardinal men’s basketball handled defending national champion UConn 72-59 at Maples Pavilion on Saturday, but the women’s team’s comeback against ASU on Monday came just short.
