On Tuesday, Elise Clougherty ’13 filed a civil suit against Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale ’04 for sexual assault and several other charges. Clougherty alleged that Lonsdale initiated an abusive relationship through his mentorship for a Stanford class on entrepreneurship. Lonsdale denied the claims in a personal statement, calling them “a malicious campaign of lies,” and intends to file a countersuit for defamation. A sophomore gave their thoughts on the lessons learned from the alleged rape committed by swimmer Brock Turner.
