Students view admissions files as result of FERPA requests

Stanford students who made FERPA requests for their admissions files have begun viewing those documents through 20-minute appointments. Some resulting perceptions of the admissions process: “able to glean a lot,” “surprisingly arbitrary,” “precarious and subjective.”  Stanford is no longer maintaining the admissions files of other students, and all electronic files that have not been requested have been deleted. Cardinal women’s basketball won the Pac-12 Tournament, beating Cal 61-60 in the final on Sunday night.
