Police Blotter: Sept. 16–23

This report covers a selection of incidents from Sept. 16 to Sept. 23 as recorded in the Stanford Department of Public Safety bulletin.

Wednesday, Sept. 16:

  • An unknown suspect entered an individual’s unlocked vehicle on Pierce Mitchell Place and took items totaling in value around $240 sometime between 7 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. the next day.
  • A suspect was cited and released for shoplifting at the Stanford Bookstore sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. The stolen books were recovered.

Thursday, Sept. 17:

  • Recently stolen property from Stanford campus was recovered in a stolen vehicle by the Redwood City Police Department. Investigation is ongoing.
  • An unknown suspect entered an individual’s unlocked vehicle on Pierce Mitchell Place and took items valuing about $195 sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from near a bike rack outside the Sigma Chi fraternity house sometime between noon and 9 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 18:

  • An individual was arrested and transported to the San Jose Main Jail for driving under the influence near Campus Dr. and Bowdoin St. at 1:09 a.m.
  • An individual was cited and released for being in possession of a controlled substance near Campus Dr. and Quarry Rd. at 10:10 a.m.
  • An individual received a threatening phone call from an unknown number at 6:40 p.m.
  • A suspect was located and arrested on charges of sexual battery sometime between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. at Tresidder Memorial Union.

Saturday, Sept. 19:

  • Unknown suspects entered an unlocked room in Donner at Stern Hall and stole two laptops sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.
  • Unknown suspects smashed the rear window of an individual’s vehicle at Nixon Elementary School and stole two backpacks sometime between 11 a.m. and noon.

Sunday, Sept. 20:

  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside the Knight Management Center sometime between noon and 12:30 p.m.
  • An individual was arrested for driving under the influence and was transported to San Jose Main Jail.

Monday, Sept. 21:

  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from a bike rack on Alvarado Row sometime between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from outside Okada at Wilbur Hall sometime between 7 p.m. and 10 a.m.
  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside Lane Hall sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • An individual’s unlocked bike was stolen from outside Arrillaga Alumni Center sometime between 3 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. the next day.

Tuesday, Sept. 22:

  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside La Casa Italiana sometime between 4 p.m. and noon the next day.
  • An individual’s reportedly cable-locked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside the School of Education sometime between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • An industrial food processor was stolen from the Avanti Dining Society kitchen sometime between June 12 and Sept. 21.
  • An individual’s reportedly locked bike was stolen from outside Crothers Hall sometime between midnight and noon the next day.
  • An individual’s reportedly unlocked bike was stolen from outside the Delta Delta Delta sorority house sometime between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next day.
  • An individual’s reportedly locked bike was stolen from a bike rack outside Mudd Chemistry Building sometime between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

According to the Stanford Department of Public Safety bulletin, no alcohol transports were reported for the seven-day period between Sept. 16 and Sept. 23.
