No.1 Stanford women’s swimming and diving (7-0, 6-0 Pac-12) host No. 4 Cal (9-0, 6-0) in a dual-meet on Senior Day in Avery Aquatic Center.
The final home meet features the only defeated teams in the conference. It also marks the final home meet for eight seniors: Simone Manuel, Lindsey Engel, Ally Howe, Gracia Leydon Mahoney, Kassidy Cook, Sammy Gallagher, Alex Meyers and Janet Hu.
Both teams are competing to raise money for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
Cal has been one of the few programs to give the Cardinal fits in dual-meets under head coach Greg Meehan. The Bears are 3-3 against Stanford in the last six seasons while Stanford is 43-1 against everyone else.
Stanford has taken the last two dual-meets with a 177-123 win last season, and a 172-128 win two seasons ago.
It has been three seasons since the Cardinal fell in a dual-meet. The last loss was against Cal in 2015. The streak of undefeated dual-meets has a chance to reach 23 straight after Saturday’s action.
This is the last regular season game for both teams before the Pac-12 Swimming Championships begin on Feb. 24 and run until Feb. 27 in Federal Way, Washington.
The Cardinal finish the regular season against Cal on Saturday at noon in Avery Aquatic Center. The meet will be live streamed by Stanford Live Stream.
