Sexual assault reported near Wilbur Hall, investigation underway

A man was reported to have used force to grope a woman against her wishes at approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, the Stanford University Department of Public Safety (SUDPS) reported. SUDPS is currently investigating the incident.

The assault took place on the 600 Block of Escondido Road, adjacent to Wilbur Hall. The suspect reportedly forcefully restrained the victim to touch her breasts and bottocks, even though she repeatedly asked him to stop.

The victim told SUDPS she knows the suspect, a 21-year-old, six-foot-tall white male.

An AlertSU notice of the assault was sent out to all students at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. The incident was reported to SUDPS on Friday.

SUDPS declined to offer additional details on the matter due to the early nature of the investigation.
