Former Stanford point guard Kanaan Carlyle committed to Indiana over the weekend. The six-foot-three guard from Georgia averaged 11.5 points and 2.7 assists per game in his freshman season on the Farm. 

While Carlyle was an immediate contributor to the team, he also struggled with his efficiency, hitting less than 40% of his field goals and shooting just 32% from beyond the arc. However, Carlyle showed flashes of NBA potential this season, displaying his rare mix of athleticism and shot creation.

Carlyle joins a vaunted transfer portal class for the Hoosiers, which also includes former Washington State guard Myles Rice and former Arizona center Oumar Ballo.

For Stanford, the loss of Carlyle hurts the team dramatically, as they will likely need to get multiple ball handlers from the transfer portal. However, it will be difficult to find somebody who has the same potential as Carlyle.
