History is what helps us
to learn and do better,
seeing hatred in all its forms,
giving us the moral clarity
to stop hatred early on,
dead in its tracks.
Hatred throughout history,
suspending morals and spreading lies,
is the easy answer
to emerge from crisis,
restoring national greatness
at the expense of the Other.
Hatred for the Other,
excluded from the society,
blamed for our struggles,
scapegoated to no end,
is but a disgrace to justice
and the fairness it demands.
Justice for the Other,
fervent justice, not feckless neutrality,
is the only way for humanity
to unlearn its hatred
and truly earn its greatness,
setting the example for posterity.
Justice for the Other,
the ‘groomer,’ the ‘vermin,’ the ‘terrorist,’
no matter how unpopular,
is the fundamental lesson of history,
for doing better
is what justice demands.
