Stanford men’s basketball reached into the lower-division ranks to secure two proven scorers for the 2025-26 season, welcoming two-time Division II All-American guard Jeremy Dent-Smith and Division III All-American forward AJ Rohosy to The Farm.
Dent-Smith, a 6-foot-1 Hawthorne, California product, amassed 1,402 points in three seasons at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The junior averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals while steering the Toros to last season’s Division II national title game and earning his second straight National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) first-team All-America nod.
Rohosy will be joining Stanford’s program with plenty of experience, including a few seasons with head coach Kyle Smith. Rohosy began his career as a walk-on under Smith at Washington State before blossoming during a graduate season at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps while attending Claremont Graduate University. As a San Anselmo native, Rohosy will be making a return to the Bay Area.
In his one year at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Rohosy racked up multiple accolades. He was named to the second team All-America while receiving College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District honors and NABC All-District X honors. He finished the season averaging a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, setting a program record for field goal percentage in a season with a mark of 64.8%.
Stanford will look to improve upon a year where they finished 21-14 overall in the inaugural ACC season, matching a school record with 17 home victories and advancing to the second round of National Invitation Tournament (NIT) second round. Maples Pavilion will see some great action next season as the men’s squad is set to host many formidable opponents, including Cal, Duke, and North Carolina. Road trips will send the Cardinal to Boston College, Florida State, Miami, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Syracuse is the lone league opponent left off next season’s slate.
