As Stanford’s autumn quarter comes to an end, students enjoy cooler temperatures and changing leaves in their favorite fall spots on campus. Although Stanford’s climate shows limited seasonal variation, students are still able to find signs of fall across campus.

Katie Klein ’29 often passes by Terman Fountain by the Doerr School of Sustainability and admires the brightly colored trees. “There’s some tables where you can sit and study, and it’s very peaceful, and it’s really a nice place to do your homework,” Klein said.

For students living on West Campus, neighboring Roble Field is home to similarly colorful trees that would make a picturesque setting for a picnic or study session as they shed vibrantly colored leaves.

Many students frequent Arguello Field to catch views of fall foliage. Jessie Kong ’26 remembers the green area between Wilbur Hall and Stern Hall as one of her favorite places on campus during autumn quarter last year and is excited to see that the trees are just as beautiful this year. “I lived in Okada last year, and so every morning when I’d bike out to class, I’d pass by there, and the leaves are so pretty,” said Kong.

Radhika Unnikrishnan ’29 enjoys taking in the scenes of fall from the roof of Tresidder Memorial Union as she does her homework. “I think my favorite fall spot is definitely Tresidder. I just love sitting there and doing my homework and getting a little drink after classes,” Unnikrishnan said.

Unnikrishnan plans to take advantage of the crispness in the air and the changing leaves for as long as it lasts.
