This report covers a selection of incidents from June 28 to July 4, as recorded in the Stanford Department of Public Safety bulletin.

A series of bike thefts and medical emergencies occurred during this period. Bike thefts occurred at the Rains Complex, Florence Moore Hall and Crothers Memorial Hall.

Monday, June 28

Between 8:00 a.m. on June 23 and 7 a.m. on June 28, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s dormitory room at Slavianskii Dom and stole currency from her wallet.

In an incident that occurred on at 12 a.m. on June 22, but was reported on June 28, an unknown suspect made fraudulent charges using the victim’s debit cards.

In an incident that occurred on June 24, but was reported on June 28, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s bike tool kit from her bike, which had been cable-locked to the bike rack outside of Bldg. 380. In a fit of mercy, however, the suspect left the bike alone.

Between 7:30 a.m. on June 24 and 9 p.m. on June 28, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s room in Escondido Village without force and stole a laptop computer.

Tuesday, June 29

At 2:45 p.m. at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning, an individual was cited and released for misusing a disability parking placard belonging to an unknown person.

Wednesday, June 30

At 12 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the victim’s locked dormitory room in Branner Hall and stole personal property, including a phone.

At 9:10 a.m. on the corner of Oak Road and Welch Road, an individual was cited and released for driving without a license.

At 4:14 p.m., an arrestee was transported to the San Jose main jail and booked for dwelling “with no lawful business” inside La Maison Francaise.

In an incident that occurred between June 23 and June 25, but was reported on June 30, two victims found their property spirited away by an unknown suspect when they left it in a common area of the Enchanted Broccoli Forest.

Thursday, July 1

In an incident that occurred between June 25 and June 27, but was reported on July 1, an unknown suspect stole a wheel from the victim’s bike, which he had U-locked to a bike rack on the east side of Herrin Hall.

In an incident that occurred between May 5 and July 1 at Tresidder Memorial Union, the victim’s accountant found discrepancies in the cash deposits. The person with access to the cash was unable to provide an explanation for the missing cash and inconsistencies.

Friday, July 2

At 3:39 a.m. on the 600 block of Escondido Road, an individual was cited and released for driving under the influence.

Between 7:30 p.m. on July 1 and 11 a.m. on July 2, an unknown suspect stole an art piece valued at around $500 from the Cantor Center for Visual Arts.

Between 12 p.m. on July 1 and 12 p.m. on July 2, a suspicious letter with no return address was found in the reporting party’s mailbox.

Sunday, July 4

Between 10 p.m. on July 3 and 9:45 a.m. on July 4, an unknown suspect broke the passenger window of the victim’s vehicle, which had been parked in Parking Structure 6, and stole multiple items from the interior compartment.

At 10:10 p.m., three suspects were observed riding bikes while “guiding a riderless bike.” When confronted, the suspects quickly rode off. The bikes were later found abandoned in Palo Alto.
