Proposition 8 | U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker ruled in Perry v. Schwarzenegger that Proposition 8, which limits marriage to a bond between a man and a woman, is unconstitutional and violates equal protection laws. The case has been appealed and may continue to the Supreme Court. Political science professor Gary Segura testified in the case back in January.
