Remembering Randell | Art professor Richard Randell died late May in his home in Sonoma County, at the age of 81. Randell, who succumbed to lung cancer, was a popular teacher and a nationally known artist and sculptor. “He was always young, until the day he died,” a friend said in his obituary.
Meier dies | Economics professor Gerald M. Meier died June 21 at his home on Stanford Campus, from complications from a brain tumor. Meier was an expert in the economics of developing nations and served as a consultant to the World Bank. A memorial service for Meier is pending.
