Stanford under federal Title IX investigation, editorial on public service

The U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights has added Stanford to its list of schools under review for the handling of sexual assault cases, stemming from a complaint filed by Leah Francis ’14. Stanford faculty members submitted statements to the Advisory Panel on Investment Responsibility and Leasing opposing divestment from companies identified as complicit in human rights violations in Israel and Palestine. The Editorial Board argues for a culture on campus that values public service as much as it celebrates technological innovation and advancement.
