A University spokesperson confirmed to The Daily that former human biology professor Nathan Wolfe ’92 will end his visiting appointment to Stanford’s bioengineering department Monday, a position that will not be renewed. The Daily reported last week on a close relationship between Wolfe and late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the pair’s correspondence, Wolfe invited Epstein to meet “a couple of hottie interns.” The Daily’s investigation also found that Wolfe sought to involve Epstein as a donor in his research on sexual behavior, aimed at developing a “female viagra” based on what Wolfe called “[their] horny virus hypothesis.”
Following the report, Wolfe shared a statement with The Daily denying any wrongdoing and expressing regret for his association with Epstein.
“I never witnessed or participated in any misconduct or inappropriate behavior,” Wolfe wrote.
Formerly the Lorey I. Lokey Visiting Professor of Human Biology, Wolfe’s LinkedIn profile described him previously as a Visiting Scholar at the Quake Lab. Wolfe also appears as a co-author of several papers published by the Quake Lab.
The LinkedIn page has since been updated to describe Wolfe as a “Visiting Scholar” at Stanford from 2023 until February 2026.
A University spokesperson said that Wolfe’s appointment in the bioengineering department lasted one year.
Wolfe did not respond to a request for comment on his current affiliation with Stanford.
