Lupita Montoya
Dr. Lupita Montoya is a first-generation Latinx scholar from the LA area. She was the first Mexican-American to earn a PhD in Environmental Engineering at Stanford University and the first engineer to be awarded the prestigious Yerby Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard School of Public Health. She conducts multidisciplinary research that addresses environmental and health impacts of indoor air pollution, especially in low-income communities in the US and abroad. She is an ardent and life-long advocate for environmental and social justice. She is also part of the Global Catholic Climate Movement.
