After traveling to Australia, the Stanford Solar Car team withdrew from the competition because of an issue with their battery. Although they are still investigating the cause, team members suspect that the problem was associate with the choice to move to a bullet car design rather than the catamaran design they have used in past years.

Despite setback in Australia, Solar Car remains optimistic for future innovations
