Hi! We’re Crystal and Andy, co-leads of the Photo-Video Section at The Daily. Come be innovative with us as we tell stories through creative visual media. We support written content sections by aiding articles with photo and video materials as well as produce our own original photo essays, short documentaries and online series! Our main goals are to collaborate with written sections and support articles with integrated visual media; support and publish original, independent, creative visual stories; and most importantly, establish a community of photographers and videographers of all backgrounds, skill levels, and aspirations
Here are some spotlights on our work:
- Scroll through the Stanford Daily’s website to see pictures that our photographers contribute to articles. For example, this recent article about RAs on strike, or this article about in-person classes!
- Check out our Youtube channel to see some very cool content! Here is an episode of the Weekly Roundup, and here is a feature video of Stanford at the Tokyo Olympics.
- Check out this photo essay of Chicago under quarantine, and this photo gallery of students celebrating Lunar New Year during a pandemic.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of content you can create! You can take on a multitude of roles — photographer, videographer, photo or video editor, motion graphics editor, scriptwriter, contributor and more! We don’t require any previous experience or equipment to join.
