Bings break ground at concert hall
Peter Bing ‘55, left, Helen Bing and President John Hennessy break the ceremonial ground at the site of the future Bing Concert Hall, a $111.9 million project expected to be completed in the summer of 2012. Board of Trustees Chair Leslie Hume, President Emeritus Gerhard Casper and architect Richard Olcott were also on the slate Tuesday. Music professor Stephen Sano said he hopes that with the concert hall, students will learn “what fine ensemble means.” (MICHAEL ROONEY/The Stanford Daily)
