Smoking ban vote postponed, Glenn Beck visits campus, Nolan breaks U.S. record

The Faculty Senate decided on Thursday to postpone a vote on an all-campus smoking ban. Television and radio personality Glenn Beck gave a speech at Tressider Memorial Union, sponsored by Stanford’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, about the role of compassion in his life and its place in society. The Stanford Symphony Orchestra and the Stanford Symphonic Chorus invited their audience to experience Germany during their concert at Bing. With Dead Week and Finals Week looming, The Daily compiled a guide to food delivery services on campus for Dead Week. Senior swimmer David Nolan broke Olympian Ryan Lochte’s U.S. record in the 200 IM.
