Andrej Stojakovic to leave Stanford, down to top three schools

The mass exodus of Stanford men’s basketball continues, as freshman guard Andrej Stojakovic has narrowed his transfer decision down to three schools, according to On3 Sports

The 6-foot-7 sharp shooter is currently choosing between Kentucky, North Carolina, and U.C. Berkeley.

Stojakovic, a former McDonald’s All-American and five-star recruit coming out of high school, entered the transfer portal on March 18 following head coach Jerod Hasse’s dismissal — Haase recruited Stojakovic to play for Stanford.

While center star Maxime Raynaud decided to stay for his upcoming senior season, four out of the five top scorers, Brandon Angel, Michael Jones, Spencer Jones and Kanaan Carlyle– will not return next season.

Ranked 51st in the college basketball transfer portal by 24/7 Sports, Stojakovic is a skilled wing player who averaged nearly 8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, and was just beginning to step into a bigger role for the Cardinal.

New head coach Kyle Smith will need to rebuild the men’s basketball program from the ground up. Stanford may face a tough transition into next season without its current core.
