BRIEF: Oregon outcome to determine Big Game start time, TV carrier

Nov. 9, 2011, 1:32 a.m.

On Monday evening, the Pac-12 announced that the outcome of Saturday’s football matchup between Stanford and Oregon will determine both the start time and television scenario for the 114th Big Game on Nov. 19. Win or loss, however, the Cardinal will play in front of a national television audience.

Should the Card beats the Ducks this Saturday, the annual game against California will be slated for a 5 p.m. kickoff in Stanford Stadium. In this scenario, the game will be telecast by ABC, with at least 51 percent of U.S. households receiving the broadcast. If Stanford emerges from the weekend with its first loss of the season, the Big Game will start at 7:15 p.m. and be broadcast nationally by ESPN.

After Cal, the Cardinal will have one more regular season home game against Notre Dame. The annual matchup against the Fighting Irish will start at 5 p.m. and be televised nationally by ABC.
